The mission of Buchanan Soil & Water Conservation District is to take available technical, financial, and educational resources and administer programs designed to encourage individual responsibility to conserve, improve, and sustain our soil and water resources for future generations.
Buchanan Soil & Water Conservation District Offers free technical assistance to landowners in the county with land management, drainage, wetlands, soils information, best management practices and other land resource problems.
Commissioner Meetings
All meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 2:00 p.m. Unless otherwise noted, the meetings will be at the USDA Office in Independence. For a list of all meeting dates, please see the Meeting Dates section of our About page.
